Congrats, Lyly. I love the Royal Drawing School. They have amazing classes, and I would love to take an in-person intensive class.

It’s always so interesting to me how our art changes depending on what season we are in or what artists we are inspired by. I’ve noticed that I go through cycles where I want to be more neutral and realistic and other times more colorful, chaotic, and expressive.

This is so true . It's something I have noticed as well about my art practice . My art , subjects and colors vary a lot based on the seasons. And I find it hard sometimes to feel coherent when I follow this internal itch to create based on how my environment makes me feel. But I guess that's the beauty of art and we just have to welcome it and , embrace it

I think it's the expression of our mental health, our worries, needs, hopes, same with food taste, sometimes you can't leave without oreo then suddendly, they're horrible and tomato is YOUR thing ! there's too much articles about finding our style or our niche when in reality, nothing's static

Yes! I 100% agree with you! And as I learn more and more about other artists, especially the masters, I’m realizing just how much their styles changed and grew with them as well. The idea that our work must stay the same and that we must have a specific style forever and ever is a lie.
